Current students of the MSc in International Hospitality Management, MSc in Sports Industry Management and MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing kicked off their academic year with a full agenda. From visiting the Château de Versailles, the Moulin Rouge and the Plaza Athénée Hotel to meeting with industry expert from companies like Nike and Lagardère Sports, this year’s cohorts are off to a great start! Let’s take a look at what they’ve been doing so far…
Diving into the sports industry with company visits and business cases
After an induction week which took place in the French Alps and where MSc in Sports Industry Management students met with Frederic Ducruet, CEO of Millet Mountain Group and Frederic Fages, Brand Director, the intake is now starting to work on its first sports business cases with Lagardère Sports and Nike where they will act as Consultants and work on specific topics for these companies. As part of the programme, a group of students will work on a special business case for the All Star Games taking place in Paris Bercy in December. As such, the group of students has recently met with Benjamin Garot from Sport Plus Conseil entertainment agency and Event Organizer of the All Star Games, to talk about the show and the project they will work on. In the coming months, students will also meet with Saint Raphael Handball to brainstorm on how to rebrand this professional club and attend world-famous sports Trade Show ISPO. |

Discovering the luxury industry with high-end professional
MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students started the programme with a special “One Day in Versailles” event where they visited the Château de Versailles, The Trianon and its garden. After immersing themselves in the luxury industry of previous centuries, students are now working on more contemporary challenges thanks to different seminars on topics linked to the jewelry sector, the luxury market in India, luxury etiquette and luxury retail. Guest speakers conducting these seminars include Binita Cooper, Consultant and Specialist in Brand Strategy, Luxury Goods and Services, Anne Debard, Expert on French etiquette, hospitality management, commerce and luxury sector and Delphine Vitry, Partner and Founder of Mad Network, a French consulting firm specialised in luxury retail. Students also attended an Expert Panel with François Bouyer, founder and CEO of BeThe1, a high quality recruitment consulting firm for middle & senior management in luxury, fashion, beauty & retail. |
Experiencing the hospitality industry from the inside
This year’s cohort of the MSc in International Hospitality Management took its first field trip to Paris where students had the unique opportunity to visit many top level hotels and restaurants including the Ritz Carlton, the Experimental Cocktail Club, The Scribe Hotel, the world-famous Moulin Rouge, La Parizienne etc. Students have also started to work on their first hands-on project named Hospitality New Venture Creation Project where they are asked to work on a specific business plan for a virtual hospitality company. After that, the cohort will work on the Concept Design and Development Project in collaboration with Institut Paul Bocuse’s Master in Culinary Leadership in Innovation. For this project, students will need to come up with a new restaurant concept and serve a specific table during three days. The last project will take place in Shanghai where students will act as Consultants for a specific hospitality company.
