Munich School of Management is one of the 18 faculties at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU), and among the high-end research universities in Germany. LMU stands for excellent research coupled with established tradition, and the standing of our faculty is founded on a history of over 150 years of educational innovation.
The school, which is top-ranked among German business schools, consists of 18 academic institutes, with approximately 140 lecturers and teaching assistants. The professors possess eminent academic credentials and a dedication to teaching. Munich School of Management offers a great variety in research and teaching. Joint research projects are encouraged with universities and companies all over the world in order to facilitate the exchange of knowledge. Four Centers of Excellence focus on core areas of expertise: CDTM - Centre for Digital Technology and Management, LMU EC - Centre for Entrepreneurship, CIM - Centre for Internet Research and Media Integration and MRIC - Munich Risk and Insurance Center.
LMU Munich’s historic main building in the heart of the city is world famous. It is primarily home to the social sciences and humanities. The main university library is situated in the south wing of the main building. It houses nearly half of LMU Munich’s total stock of 6.6 million volumes available in the university’s central and more than 150 departmental libraries. The main library is close to the Bavarian State Library and several important museums and archives, providing an ideal infrastructure for research and study.
