Meet Liliana, future Global Entrepreneurship Program student!

Tell us a bit about your background.

I’m from a small city in the Colombian Andes, where I grew up, and where I currently manage my agriculture startup: an organic blueberry plantation. Before deciding to focus entirely on entrepreneurship, I worked in Colombia´s largest financial institution for seven years, and I gained client relationship skills that I am applying in my own endeavor. I hold a BSc and Master´s degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.

Why did you decide to join the program?

I see myself as an entrepreneur and I joined the Global Entrepreneurship Program to acquire the toolkit needed to succeed. This program will help me achieve my mid-term goals of growing my agri-business. Of special importance for me is the fact that the program will allow me to experience three different cultures and ways of conducting business, which could potentially translate into future commercial partners, investors, or clients. Also, I want to be transformed by the experiences in the venture incubator and have a framework to evaluate enterprises leading me to become an agent of change in rural communities in Colombia, in the long run, applying business ideas that bind together agriculture, technology, and education.

What do you expect from the program?

I expect to have a truly diverse and broad experience: diverse in the sense of getting to know my classmates, who will have different nationalities and backgrounds; broad in the sense of learning all the crucial factors needed to increase the likelihood of being a successful entrepreneur. A specific goal of mine is to learn about how to manage family enterprises.

Three words to describe yourself:

Curious, energetic and optimistic.
