Business Plan Competition – EMLYON wins E. Craig Nemec Elevator Challenge at the 2014 Global Venture Labs Investment Competition

EMLYON Business School International MBA programme was invited to compete at the 2014 Global Venture Labs Investment Competition (formerly Moot Corp) in Austin, Texas. This year the business plan competition gathered 40 teams from top graduate programmes around the world. The EMLYON MBA team, Kerranna WILLIAMSON, Toral JAIN, Stephen THODESEN and Julien GILET-DAUBIN, presented their venture, Neolys Diagnostics, which specialises in the development and commercialisation of two highly innovative diagnostic tests that accurately diagnose and map the radio-sensitivity profile of patients and their tumors, and enable radiation oncologists to customise radiation treatments for solid-tumor cancer patients thereby increasing the effectiveness of the protocol and patient quality of life, and reducing the negative risks and consequences of sub-optimal or over radiation.

Neolys Diagnostics, won the E. Craig Nemec Elevator Challenge. Only one team member was entitled to do the 1-minute pitch, which was actually done in the elevator of the University of Texas, at Austin clock tower from the basement to the top floor – 27 floors, then on to the observation deck. Kerranna WILLIAMSON was chosen to represent the team, and it was her outstanding performance that won the award.

In addition, the competitions allow our participants to make new friends, to source new ideas and potential partners, and to develop their global network of business contacts.
