Learn the ancient art of hospitality at the EMLYON Asian Campus and Institut Paul Bocuse restaurant school in Shanghai!
Students of the MSc in International Hospitality Management will have the unique opportunity to spend one semester at the EMLYON Asian Campus, as well as Institut Paul Bocuse's restaurant school in Shanghai. They will study courses such as Hospitality in the New Asia, Hospitality Financing, Hospitality Brand Design and Asian Cultures and Etiquette.
The objective of the semester is to give students an in-depth insight into the Asian culture and environment, which is a key growth sector in hospitality.
“The business of the world is moving from the Western world to Asia and our students have the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the Chinese working world of hospitality,” says Philippe Gay, Director of International Masters at EMLYON.
“In France we tend to believe that we are the kings of the world in hospitality and restaurants. But Asia is the other major side of hospitality with a very ancient style of etiquette. Our students get the opportunity to learn from both cultures, both cuisines and both ways of welcoming people.”
In-Company Consultancy Project
During their time spent at the Asian campuses of EMLYON and Institut Paul Bocuse, students get the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice with an In-Company consulting project for a hospitality business. A typical project could be studying the hospitality market to launch a new concept. At the end of their semester, students are required to present their recommendations to the company directors and faculty members, giving them to opportunity to apply what they have learnt to a real-life business issue and stand-out to future recruiters.
