Welcome to the first intake of the International Hospitality Management program!

The students of the new MSc in International Hospitality Management program have been fully immersed into the hospitality industry for a month now!

On August 25th, the students started the program with the Professional Immersion Module, providing an intensive insight into the culture and traditions of the industry while highlighting the aesthetic and humanistic elements that separate hospitality from other professions.  During three weeks, the students discovered the operations and codes of the industry and took part in courses including an Introduction to the Kitchen and Culinary Arts, Service Techniques, Coffee and Tea appreciation and Arts de la Table. What made this module so unique was the fact that the students benefitted from the infrastructure of the Institut Paul Bocuse, as the module took place both at the Institut’s Château as well as the five-star lifestyle Hôtel Royal (operated by Institut Paul Bocuse) in the center of Lyon.

The students have now started classes taking place on both EMLYON’s European Campus and at the Institut Paul Bocuse. During the first 7 months of the program, the new intake will study the fundamentals of entrepreneurial and innovative management and acquire solid knowledge of marketing, human resources, operations management, finance etc. In addition, they will benefit from hospitality specialist knowledge with courses including Food and Beverage Management, Interpreting Hospitality Financial Data, and Hospitality Marketing Management. In April 2015, the intake will travel to Shanghai and attend courses both at the Institut Paul Bocuse Restaurant School and EMLYON’s Asian Campus in Shanghai.

We wish all the best to the students of this new MSc in International Hospitality Management program!
