From India to France, Arjit B., student from last year cohort of the MSc Luxury Management, gives his feedback on his experience in the programme:

I’m from India and I studied business during my undergraduate studies specializing in marketing and finance. My family has a business specialised in high-end gemstones and high jewelry spread mainly across USA, Europe, China, Africa, Brazil and India.

The main highlights of the MSc in Luxury Management experience are the exposure to diverse cultures and their perception towards luxury. In France, definition of luxury is not what luxury means to Chinese people. Most of the time, we were travelling and learning at the same time which was quite fun as it is very rare to get this opportunity.

Another highlight was learning how to handle culture shocks. Furthermore the learning experience of working on an in-company consulting project in Shanghai and London actually helped me gain consulting skills.

The main highlight however was the team of professionals that came to teach us in all three countries. Not a lot of schools offer students the opportunity to learn from a lawyer of Louis Vuitton or the head of Zegna to teach you about digital marketing.

I am currently interning for a strategy-consulting firm in New Delhi, India. I found this internship through iCareers, EMLYON‘s website dedicated to helping students find an internship or first job.

I would say this EMLYON experience helped me become more confident professionally and gave me a direction to work towards to jump-start my career. This course gave me a much-needed exposure before I take a huge step in my career.

It takes you across the world to three totally different and diverse cultures and this programme makes you understand the similarities that the world of luxury holds.
