When MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students go to Paris and meet Ecole Lesage, Guerlain, KR Media and Chaumet International.

On Monday December 7th, MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students attended their annual “One Day in Paris” during which they had the opportunity to meet luxury industry experts and EMLYON alumni during presentations and panels as well as visit embroidery house Ecole Lesage (now part of Chanel), the Guerlain store located on the Champs Elysées, KR Media agency specialised in the luxury sector and world-renowned jewelry and watchmaking French company Chaumet International (now part of the LVMH group).

Lesage has been creating embroidery requiring countless hours of work and exceptional skills in the sector of Haute Couture since its creation in 1924. The company also launched a school in 1992 enabling those who are passionate about embroidery to develop their expertise in this sector. The group of students who attended this visit was welcomed by Laure du Pavillon, Communication and Public Relations Director in the luxury and fashion industries.

While some students were learning about the history of embroidery and the Maison Lesage, another group went to meet up with Guerlain respresentatives Fabien Almeida, Europe Marketing Manager and EMLYON alumnus, as well as Ombline Lesuyer, HR Manager, over at the prestigious Guerlain store on the Champs Elysées where history and innovation blend together to celebrate the French art of living.

The third group of students was offered the opportunity to discover KR Media which is part of the GroupM, the world’s largest media investment group, where they met Philippa Launay, Sales Director of KR Media for LVMH.

Last but certainly not least, the fourth group of this year’s MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing, had the privilege of entering the very private sphere of the place Vendôme as they went to Chaumet International. Crafted at the very heart of the place Vendôme, the jewellery and watchmaking creations of Chaumet International reflect exceptional skills and pay tribute to the Parisian style through iconic collections. Matthieu Ferry, Marketing Director Europe and EMLYON alumnus hosted the visit and presented the history of Chaumet.

In the afternoon, all of the students gathered on the 26th floor of the Tour Montparnasse in Paris where they benefitted from a “Networking Café” event with MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing alumnus Chloé D., E-commerce Project Manager at Hermès International, and Christèle Fernand, Director of EMLYON Forever. What’s more is that students attended an Expert Panel during which key luxury professionals including Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye, President of Chloé International, Yann Masson, Area Director at Sisley Cosmetics, Matthieu Mergier, Training Manager at Shangri-La Hotel Paris, Matthieu Ferry, Marketing Director Europe at Chaumet International and Justine Torres, Jewelry & Bridal Marketing Manager at Van Cleef & Arpels, presented their expertise and knowledge of this prestigious industry.

This very special luxury day ended with a presentation dedicated to EMLYON Forever’s Luxury and Fashion Industry Club during which Elisabeth Barbier, luxury industry Consultant and Co-President of the club, and Christèle Fernand, explained what the club entails, the upcoming events planned and how to become a member of this great networking organisation.
