Tell us a bit about your background.
My name is Miga McCurdy. I was born and raised in Hood River, Oregon. Hood River is on the west coast of the United States. It is the windsurfing and kiteboarding capital of the world. Also known for its superb skiing and snowboarding on Mt. Hood, Hood River is the perfect location for any outdoor activities. My parents are both orchardists, so I grew up working in the orchards each summer - picking apples, pears and cherries. I grew up playing, and participating in, many sports including soccer, skiing/snowboarding, biking and hiking (plus many more). I’ve lived in France for two years, the first year in Le Mans and the second year in Lyon. I speak English, French and I am currently working on my Spanish.
Why did you decide to join the program?
I recently graduated from the University of Oregon (Track Town USA) and I chose this program as my next step in life because of my love for sports and Europe.
What do you expect from the program?
I’m hoping to learn a lot more about the sports industry and where I want to land a career in the near future. I’m leaning towards the football industry or the biking/skiing industries - it is all undecided but I’m hoping this program will help me understand what I am looking for as a career.
