It’s in a very “early makers” atmosphere that the official opening ceremony for all the emlyon business school programmes took place on September 13th at the LOU Rugby Stadium in Lyon.
Thanks to some inspiring speeches and an enthusiastic audience, this opening ceremony was a success. To start the event, Bernard Belletante, CEO of emlyon business school, made an opening speech presenting the early makers' vision to the new students. To illustrate this early makers spirit, the students were invited to watch the video of the early makers challenge, an event which brought together the students of the MSc in Management – Grande Ecole for their first day at school. Then, the world-renowned speaker, Navi Radjou, opened the mind of our future “makers” about the concept of frugal innovation, “to do better with less”. Finally, to conclude this first part, the audience attended a round-table discussion with Pierre Mignoni, the coach of LOU Rugby, and Camille Nabeth, student of Global BBA and high-level athlete in fencing. They raised public awareness about the importance of motivation and life-long learning as key factors of success.
After the speeches, the practice! The students were invited to join the Matmut Stadium stands, privatised for emlyon business school. There young rugby players, from the LOU Rugby training center and native of Wallis and Futuna, were waiting for them for a sporting surprise: a powerful and personalised Hakka! After several demonstrations and a tailor-made training, the students executed all together a vibrant Hakka. A unified stadium which is now ready to face the challenges of the upcoming year with determination and energy in a very early makers’ spirit!
